LONDON: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) supremo Nawaz Sharif has said that he was returning to Pakistan despite seeing prison cell in front of him.
Speaking at a press conference in London a day before returning to Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif said, “I am going to fulfill the promise of giving respect to vote."
“Whether it is jail or gallows I will not stop now,” PMLN Supremo remarked.
Dispelling remours of political asylum in London, Nawaz Sharif said he was returning to Pakistan for the nation who elected me prime minister three times.
It may be noted here Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Safdar have been sentenced for 10, 7 and one year imprisonment respectively by the Accountability Court in Avenfield Apartments’ Reference on last Friday.
NAB officials had arrested Captain (retd) Safdar and shifted him to Adiala Jail.
Former PM Nawaz and his daughter Maryam will arrive at Lahore via private airline on Friday, July 13 at 6:15pm.
