Raksha Bandhan 2017: Several political leaders celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with common people. From newly elected President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union ministers to chief ministers of various states, politicians celebrated Rakhi with zeal and vigour. While it has become an annual affair for the widows of Vrindavan and Varanasi to visit the PM and tie handmade Rakhi, for President Kovind it was the first time to celebrate at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat and others were also on the list to share the joy of the day with common people. Meanwhile, celebration of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar was different from others. The CM himself tied 'Rakhi' to a tree and took a pledge to protect trees. Here's how political leaders celebrated the day.
