PPP accuses governor of unlawfully running office

PPP accuses governor of unlawfully running office PESHAWAR: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leaders on Monday accused Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra of running his office unconstitutionally. Speaking a news conference here, Pakistan People’s Party provincial president Humayun Khan and Azam Afridi said that after being appointed secretary general of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, the governor was violating the Constitution and running his office illegally. Flanked by PPP leaders including Akbar Khan, Muzammil, Gohar, Azam Khan Afridi, Humayun Khan said that Pakistan was already passing through various crises but Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif had intentionally created a new crisis by giving the slot of the party’s secretary general to the governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The PPP leader said that president of Pakistan can’t keep two offices being a symbol of the State. He said the governor also can’t have two posts. “We had thought the KP governor would resign after becoming secretary general of his party, but he did not and now the province is running without a governor,” he claimed. The PPP leaders said that they would approach the court against the governor and raise the issue at every forum.
