KARACHI: Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique Sunday said that a targeted operation would be launched to retrieve the Railways' land from illegal occupants in Karachi.
Addressing a press conference at the Muslim League House here, he said that a master plan of Railways lands is being prepared and operation would be launched after completion of the plan.
The Minister said that he has discussed all aspects related to the re-launching of Karachi Circular Railways (KCR) with other stake holders during 5-day stay in Karachi.
He said that serious efforts are being made towards revival of KCR to provide fast and low-cost transportation facilities to the people of Karachi.
He said that Sindh Governor and Chief Minister have assured their full cooperation towards revival of KCR in his meetings with them.
He said that goods trains operation which had been unfortunately destroyed during the past, is also being streamlined as it was the main source of Railways' revenue.
Saad Rafique said that each and every step is being taken to make Railways a viable and profitable organisation.
To a question about Drone attacks he said every one has right of peaceful protest under the law.
