KARACHI: Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Friday called on Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul- Ebad Khan and apprised him about the measures taken by his Ministry for revival of Karachi Circular Railway (KCR).
The Governor while speaking to the Railways Minister said that revival of KCR will help resolve the problems related to public transport faced by the people within the city as the traffic congestion is increasing day by day.
He assured full cooperation on behalf of Sindh government and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) for the revival of KCR.
Briefing the Governor about the steps taken for improvement in Railways system in the country, the Minister said that encroachment on railways land is a big hurdle in this regard which is being tackled with the cooperation of provincial governments.
He said that various initiatives have been taken to run the Railways on modern lines to provide better service to the railways' passengers.
The Governor appreciated the efforts taken to streamline the Railways system and assured full cooperation in this regard.
