MQM leader Rashid Godil critically injured after targeted attack

MQM leader Rashid Godil has been critically injured after his car was attacked by unidentified men today. The incident took place in the Bahadurabad area of Karachi.

Godil was on his way to the party headquarters, Nine Zero, for a meeting with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman when the unidentified men opened fire on his car. Godil suffered six bullet wounds.

As a result of the firing, his driver was killed while the leader himself has been critically injured.

SP East Javed Jiskani said, “Godil was targetted after being identified” and added that the The incident happened at around 10:30am immediately after which Godil and his driver were shifted to Liaquat National Hospital.

Addressing the media outside the hospital, MQM leader Muhammad Hussain appealed to the nation to pray for Godil. Chief Minister (CM) Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident and demanded an immediate report from IG Sindh Police.
