The news making the rounds is that Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is considering replacing goalkeeper Joe Hart with Stock City’s Asmir Begovic as their new ‘number one’.
Hart has not played for the club since being replaced by Costel Pantilimon following string of faulty performances. Pellegrini, however, has revealed the 26-year-old goalkeeper will play in the Champions League against Viktoria Plzen on Wednesday.
Pellegrini, who is not fully convinced by Hart’s back-up Pantilimon, reportedly believes Begovic can solve their goal-keeping problems.
Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has confessed that the club wants to sign Begovic this summer.
David Platt, who was assistant manager during Macini’s career, told media, “if Mancini and I were still at Man City this year Joe Hart wouldn't be there. We made a decision to sign Asmir Begovic.”
Reports suggest the blues will offer Hart to Stock City boss Mark Hughes at a bargain price for the remaining season, so that he can secure his World Cup place.
