ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s wife – Reham Khan on Tuesday stated that the couple has common vision for Pakistan and wish to see it prosper.
Reham expressed these views in her tweets to clarify her stand on candidacy. She stated that she believed in the PTI’s cause and her husband has devoted his life to it. She added that she did not see what elected people have done for the country.
She stated that she would rather carry on the PTI’s vision through charitable work and helping the poor without bearing a politician’s tag. She denounced the flak she is getting after the PTI’s defeat in NA-19 constituency.
Imran’s wife said that she had been in position of choosing candidacy or rejecting it long before her marriage with PTI chief. She added that her decision as far as politics is concerned has always been the same.
I have supported the PTI cause so far because it is something my husband has devoted his life too.
I would have supported anything my husband had put his heart & soul in. I see him work long hours alone for the the future of the nation.
Khan & I have the same goal to see Pakistan prosper. He pursues it via a political party & I work voluntarily for educating our children.
I repeatedly said every time I was asked that I am not interested in contesting as those who do haven't made Pakistan any better.
I had declined invitations for candidacy from political parties long before getting married to IK.
I have supported others but have never sought the support of others to achieve anything in life.
