3 BLA militants gunned down in Karachi operation

KARACHI: Three Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) insurgents were killed, while another was injured in an exchange of fire with Rangers near the Ismail Shah Mazar area, officials said on Sunday.

Those killed have been identified as Zahid, Nasir and Habib alias Fauji. Their accomplice, Elahi Bukhsh alias Guddu, was injured, said a Rangers press release. The statement read the paramilitary force was conducting surgical action on suspected hideouts of BLA terrorists.

The insurgents are suspected of blowing up a railway track near Gharo, killing a Chinese national in 2010 at the Hub check post, extortion, target killing, kidnapping for ransom and providing support to the BLA in Karachi.

Separately, police claimed to have killed four suspected terrorists in an exchange of fire in Memon Goth.
