Huzaifa stuns Abdaal in Chairman JCSC Open Tennis

KARACHI: Sixth seed Abdaal Haider was stunned by Huzaifa Abdul Rehman, who also won his Men’s doubles tie later in the day pairing with Shoaib Khan, in the 1st Chairman JCSC Open Tennis Championship in Islamabad on Tuesday.

In men’s singles category, top seed Muhammad Abid beat Abbas Khan 6-2, 6-1; Huzaifa beat Abdaal 6-3, 6-2; Heera Ashiq beat Zaid Mujahid 6-2, 6-3; M Shoaib beat Ahmad Asjad Qureshi 6-4, 6-4; Mudassir Murtaza beat Muhammad Mia Bilal 2-6, 6-3, 6-4; Muzammil Murtaza beat Nauman Aftab 6-4; 6-3; Asadullah Khan beat Ahmad Kamil 6-3, 6-2; and Yousaf Khalil beat Shahzad Khan 6-4, 4-3 (retd).

In boys singles under-18, top seed M Shoaib beat Kamran Khan 6-2, 6-1; Ahmad Asjad Qureshi beat Saad Abjad 6-0, 6-2; Ahmad Kamil beat Farman Shakeel 6-2, 6-1; Moosa Chaudhry beat Hasan Ali 6-3, 6-0; Hamza Bin Rehan beat Waleed Qureshi 6-2, 6-1; Nauman Aftab beat Zalan Khan 6-0, 6-4; M Abdullah beat Subhan Bin Salik 2-6, 7-5, 6-4; Huzaifa Abdul Rehman beat Saqib Umar 6-0, 7-5.

In boys singles under-14 category, top seed Hamza Roman beat Huzaima Abdul Rehman 4-0, 2-4, 5-3; Huzair Khan beat Hamza Jawad 4-2, 2-4, 4-2; Farman Shakeel beat Ahmed Nael 4-1, 4-2; Hasan Ali beat Huzaifa Khan 4-0, 4-2.

In boys/girls singles under-10 category, Ali Asghar beat Saqib Ali 4-1, 4-0; Tahani Zubair got walkover against Muhammad Tahaun: Muhammad Zubair beat Essa Zubair 4-1, 1-4, 5-3; Haaziq Aasim beat Zara Khan 4-1, 5-3.

In men’s doubles category, Haris Irfan-ul-Haq and Ahmed Asjad Qureshi beat Faizan Khurram and Sadam-ul-Haq 5-7, 6-4, 10-7; Abdaal Haider and Zaid Mujahid beat Yousaf Khalil and Nauman Aftab 6-1, 6-4; Ejaz A Khan and Saqib Umar beat Shakir Ullah and Farhan Ullah 6-4, 6-2; M Shoaib and Huzaifa Abdul Rehman beat Shahzad and Shahid Afridi 7-6 (5), 6-4.
