One of the multiplatform titles that is planned to launch on Microsoft’s recently unveiled Xbox One X is none other than Bungie’s Destiny 2. While the visual enhancements are a given, those of you who were hoping that the game will run on a higher frame rate as compared to the standard Xbox One are in for a small letdown.
During the official reveal of Destiny 2 last month, the developers confirmed that the game would run on 30 FPS across all available consoles including PS4 Pro. Since Xbox One X was not revealed at the time, fans hoped that the game would run at 60 FPS on the said console. However, it turns out that none of the consoles will run the game at 60 FPS.
Strictly speaking about multiplayer experience, a player playing on 60 FPS should have a clear advantage over a player playing on 30 FPS. If we were to put the singleplayer campaign aside, I do not see anything wrong with the decision as it promotes an even playing field.
Developed by Bungie, Destiny 2 launches on Sept. 06, 2017 for Playstation 4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, and Xbox One X. The game’s PC version launches almost after a month on Oct. 24, 2017.
